How much can you fit into a single day? A group of theatre makers is about to find out.

Presented with UMAC and the Faculty of Arts, Bell Shakespeare's ‘Play In A Day’ presents a creative challenge, giving a director and a cast of actors just one day to prepare and mount a performance of a rarely performed classic.

For this year's Being Human Festival, join us for a stripped-back reading of Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens, a timely warning about the corrupting influence of money, and the corrosive impact hatred can have on our society.

Prior to the performance, we are excited to welcome renowned Shakespeare scholar Professor David McInnis who is editing Timon of Athens for the Arden Shakespeare 4th Series — and director Tim Paige as they share their reflections on Shakespeare’s darkest meditation on human nature

Don't miss this rare insight into what it takes to bring Shakespeare’s work from page to stage.
